Danish People's Aid and KAALO Aid & Development (KAALO) from Garowe in Puntland, Somalia, have jointly developed the project. The purpose is to strengthen the local population in 6 villages in Puntland by building capacity village and water committees so that they become better at organizing, maintaining water infrastructure and teaching the other villagers within WASH. At the same time, the capacity of local decision-makers will also be strengthened, so that they have a greater understanding of and ability to improve local water and sanitation conditions. The village committees and the local decision-makers will also be trained in advocacy with a focus on WASH, as well as conflict resolution, which is an important tool in fragile situations.

Originally a 2-year project, but from 01.01.2019 the activities continued under the Danish People's Aid Program.
