With operations in Africa, Afghanistan, and Ukraine, Danish People's Aid saves lives and facilitates development in some of the world's most difficult hotspots.

Nexus - between crisis and development

Famine in northern Uganda, drought in Somalia and war in Ukraine. When disaster strikes, action must be swift and deliberate. In addition to direct emergency aid, Danish People's Aid contributes to greater resilience in the population, helping them to move on with their lives.

Disaster can also have another face. For example, around 700 children die every day from diarrhoea - most as a result of unclean drinking water. This requires a different approach - especially in Africa and Afghanistan.

We develop services and systems so that everyone can have clean water and proper toilet facilities.

People must be involved in the decision-making process. This not only creates a stronger basis for decision-making, but also ownership, sustainability and resilience against future crises.

In this way, there is a nexus - a bridge - between Danish People's Aid's efforts in the world.
