SeniorNET aims to give lonely elderly people the opportunity to meet other elder people in their local area and form new networks and friendships. Through SeniorNET the elderly can take a vacation and participate in networking activities where volunteers help seniors create a community with other lonely and isolated seniors.

When lonely elderly people create a network and valuable relationships, their quality of life is enhanced and they are given the opportunity to build greater personal resources to deal with everyday problems. It builds self-esteem and reduces health problems.

SeniorNET gives lonely elderly people a safe entrance to the activities taking place in the local area and municipality. In the long run, it should strengthen the social capital of the local area by increasing the opportunity for the elderly to help each other and form friendships.
