We fight for clean water
in Kenya

In Kenya, many vulnerable communities face significant challenges in accessing clean water, sanitation and hygiene – particularly in densely populated urban areas and informal settlements. Inadequate infrastructure, rapid urbanization and climate-related events such as floods exacerbate the situation, increasing the risk of disease and deteriorating living conditions. 

Danish People's Aid is working in Kenya to strengthen access to sustainable WASH‑solutions through partnerships with local organizations and civil society networks. The efforts focus on improving service delivery, strengthening citizen involvement and ensuring that local communities themselves can influence and contribute to better water and sanitation solutions. At the same time, we support local structures and capacities so that the systems become more robust and inclusive. 

When crises arise, we supplement with rapid humanitarian interventions. In connection with floods in Nairobi, Danish People's Aid provided emergency support to hundreds of families through cash assistance, basic necessities and psychosocial support, enabling affected families to meet their most urgent needs and rebuild their lives.
