FREE & CONFIDENTIAL ADVICE

If you are having difficulty getting an overview of your finances or your debt, you can get free, impartial and confidential help from Danish People's Aid's Financial and Debt Counseling.

Financial problems can arise when life changes – for example, due to illness, unemployment, divorce or other difficult situations. Debt and lack of overview can create stress and worries, which can be difficult to deal with alone. With us, you will be met with respect, understanding and professional support.

Who can get counseling?

The advice is for those who are experiencing financial challenges or debt problems – regardless of the reason. Many of those who seek advice from us are in a vulnerable life situation and, for example, on public welfare, but everyone is welcome.

With us, there are no raised fingers. We see you as a person with resources – even if it may be difficult to see them right now.

We help you create an overview and find ways forward – including:

  • For budget and available amount
  • For handling debts and creditors
  • For letters and inquiries regarding finances
  • To the tax folder and contact to the public 
  • For application for debt restructuring and forgiveness of public debt
  • Guidance on housing benefit, individual benefits and other support schemes
  • Savings advice and help to get the most out of your finances and much more…

Who advises you?

You will be advised by professionally qualified volunteer advisors who have relevant experience – often from the financial sector. The advisors are part of Danish People's Aid and work within a fixed framework that ensures confidentiality, quality and impartiality. 

The advice is supported by financial and social workers at Danish People's Aid, who ensure a safe environment and high professional quality.

At Danish People's Aid's Financial and Debt Counseling, we work based on three fundamental values:
