Emergency relief and long-term solutions in Mozambique
wash, food safety and protection
Mozambique is affected by recurring climate disasters and armed conflict, which are driving massive displacement and worsening access to basic services such as clean water, food and health. Floods, cyclones and insecurity in the north are putting pressure on both displaced families and local communities, who already live in great poverty and limited access to basic services.
Danish People's Aid works in Mozambique through strong local partnerships to deliver both emergency relief and long-term solutions. The interventions focus on WASH, food security and protection, combining direct support to families with building local capacity so that communities can better cope with future crises.
In acute crises, we deliver rapid and flexible humanitarian assistance – from clean water and sanitation to food aid and cash-transfer support – tailored to local needs and realities. At the same time, we ensure that efforts are carried out in close coordination with authorities and local communities to create lasting and sustainable solutions.
