STRONG CIVIL SOCIETY REQUIRES CLEAN WATER AND PROPER TOILET CONDITIONS
In Tanzania, many people still lack access to clean water and sanitation, especially in rural areas where weak local governance and limited resources challenge service delivery. Lack of investment and capacity means that basic WASH‑Services often do not reach the most vulnerable communities.
Danish People's Aid works in Tanzania to strengthen access to water, sanitation and hygiene through partnerships with civil society and local authorities. The efforts focus on strengthening planning, budget prioritization and accountability so that public actors can better deliver sustainable WASH‑services.
At the same time, we work with local communities and local organizations to strengthen citizens' knowledge and participation so that they can actively influence decisions and ensure better access to basic services.
