Myanmar is characterized by both conflict and natural disasters, which have weakened access to basic health and WASH services.‑services. Following the earthquake and continued instability, many people – especially women, children, the elderly and people with disabilities – are left without access to vital treatment, clean water and basic hygiene.  

Danish People's Aid is working in Myanmar through local partners to ensure access to health, hygiene and protection in some of the most vulnerable and inaccessible areas. The efforts combine mobile health clinics, referrals for treatment and locally anchored information with concrete WASH‑activities that reduce diseases and improve living conditions. 

In connection with the earthquake in Mandalay and Sagaing, Danish People's Aid has provided emergency humanitarian assistance through mobile health services, hygiene kits and improved access to sanitation facilities. At the same time, local health workers and volunteers are being strengthened so that the efforts can continue and contribute to more resilient local communities in the long term.
