In Danish People's Aid, volunteers have the opportunity to work with different tasks and target groups. We are obliged to obtain a child certificate for all our volunteers. If you do not provide your CPR number, you will be registered as a passive volunteer and will not be able to participate in our relief work. Your CPR number is sent encrypted to Danish People's Aid and complies with applicable legislation.

Volunteer agreement
As a volunteer, I have been made aware of the Danish People's Aid's purpose, laws, principles and the guidelines applicable to the activities. As a volunteer, I undertake to comply with the Danish People's Aid's principles and to be loyal in my work for the target groups who are the recipients of Danish People's Aid's relief work.
If I wish to volunteer for Danish People's Aid Economic Counseling, the procedure used must always be followed. I am at all times responsible for ensuring that all relevant documents, correspondence, etc. concerning citizens of the counseling are stored on the designated shared G-drive, which can be used via the "remote desktop".

As a volunteer, I also undertake, by accepting this agreement, to observe confidentiality with regard to the personal information and private matters that I become aware of through my volunteer work.

Consent statement
to Danish People's Aid's processing of personal data about you as a volunteer in the organization.

Name, social security number, address, postal code, telephone number and email address.

The processing of the information is necessary for us to be able to administer your affiliation as a volunteer, including to be able to send you necessary information. Information about the civil registration number is due to the organization's established rules for obtaining a child certificate/criminal record certificate. The legal basis for processing your information is the EU Data Protection Regulation Article 6, paragraph 1(a) regarding your consent.

You should also know the following:
You have the right to withdraw your consent with effect for the future by contacting us using the website or by sending an email to post@folkehjaelp.dk or call us on 70 220230.
A withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on consent before the withdrawal.
The information about you will be deleted no later than 5 years after you are no longer associated with Danish People's Aid.
You have the right to request access to the information we have registered about you, and you have the right to request correction or deletion of the information or restriction of the processing of your information.
You also have the right to object to our processing of your information and, where applicable, a right to data portability.

Read the voluntary agreement for financial and debt counselors

This voluntary agreement describes the framework for your voluntary engagement as a counselor in Danish People's Aid's Financial and Debt Counseling and the mutual expectations between you and Danish People's Aid. The agreement is intended to support safe, respectful and professionally responsible counseling for both counseling seekers, volunteer counselors and the organization.

About the advice

Danish People's Aid's Financial and Debt Counseling offers free and impartial advice to people in financially vulnerable life situations. The advice is based on Danish People's Aid's values of equality, solidarity and empowerment and is based on a holistic understanding of people's life situations.

Your role as a volunteer advisor

As a volunteer advisor, you contribute to creating an overview of the advice seeker's financial situation and support the advice seeker in finding solutions and strengthening their ability to act in their own lives.

As an advisor, you are expected to:

  • work within Danish People's Aid's values, professional framework and applicable procedures
  • participate in relevant introductory, training and education courses
  • seek advice if needed or in doubt
  • contribute to advice characterized by responsibility, integrity and cooperation

Danish People's Aid's responsibility

Danish People's Aid is committed to creating a good framework for counselling efforts through introduction courses and training, professional development and access to relevant tools, procedures, sparring and support from employees and coordinators.

Confidentiality and processing of information

As a volunteer advisor, you are subject to confidentiality.

Information about the personal, financial or social circumstances of those seeking advice may not be disclosed to unauthorized persons. You also undertake to follow Danish People's Aid's guidelines for recording, storing and processing personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.

Competence and advisory role

As a volunteer advisor, you must be aware of impartiality and any conflicts of interest.

You may not advise individuals where personal or professional relationships may affect the impartiality of the advice, including if a person seeking advice is connected to your workplace or your private network. If in doubt, the situation should be discussed with the responsible coordinator or the organization office.

As an advisor, you must not:

  • receive payment or financial benefits from counsel seekers
  • store advice seekers' money, payment cards, MitID or passwords
  • act on behalf of the advice seeker without consent and relevant power of attorney
  • advise outside the scope of the consultancy or one's own competencies

The counselling is carried out within the values, professional framework and applicable guidelines of Danish People's Aid. Further descriptions of the counselling's professional approach, ethical principles and procedures can be found in the counsellor's handbook, introductory course and relevant training modules.

Termination of volunteer work

The voluntary work can be terminated at any time by both Danish People's Aid and the voluntary advisor. However, it is expected that ongoing cases will be terminated, unless special circumstances make this impossible. Upon termination, you undertake to return relevant material and equipment and delete or deliver any information stored locally. The duty of confidentiality also applies after the termination of the collaboration.

Processing of information about volunteers

Danish People's Aid registers and processes relevant personal data about volunteers in connection with the administration of the volunteer effort, including obtaining child or criminal records.

Information is processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation and Danish People's Aid's personal data policy.
