In connection with DCU's anniversary, the Danish Camping Union is entering into a new collaboration with the Danish People's Aid. The collaboration will contribute to providing financially needy families with children with the opportunity for holiday experiences, community and new memories – and at the same time bring DCU's values of community and natural presence to life in yet another concrete way.

The collaboration between DCU and Danish People's Aid is anchored in several concrete initiatives. During the summer, DCU will be responsible for collections at DCU campsites, where there will be clear markings of how you as a camper or guest can contribute. The ambition is also that the collaboration will develop into a long-term partnership with several joint initiatives for the benefit of children and families. In connection with DCU's anniversary, the collaboration will be visible, among other things, at the anniversary reception, where guests are encouraged to support the initiative.

– Far too many children in Denmark do not have the opportunity for holiday experiences and community, and we would like to help change that. In connection with DCU's 100th anniversary, we have therefore chosen to use the celebration to also give something away through a collaboration with Danish People's Aid. At the same time, we are collecting at the campsites and hope that members and guests will help get involved and make a concrete difference, says national chairman Anne-Vibeke Isaksen.

Anne-Vibeke Isaksen emphasizes that everyone who supports various charitable causes is doing something good. Nothing is more right than anything else.

– We have chosen to enter into cooperation with the Danish People's Aid based on the consideration that we support the entire family. The decision has been up for discussion in the DCU Executive Board, says the national chairman and continues:
– We are really happy about the collaboration with Danish People's Aid. Over the years, I have supported several different causes. Among other things, I have cycled for Team Rynkeby, which raises money for the Children's Cancer Foundation, and been an ambassador for Children's Conditions.

Safety for children and families

Danish People's Aid is also very happy about the new collaboration.

– Almost 50,000 children live below the poverty line in Denmark. The consequence is, among other things, a lack of experiences and isolation. That is why we are enormously grateful for the collaboration with the Danish Camping Union. You help give even more children and adults access to safe, voluntary and free communities, and that is what is needed. Thank you for the collaboration and congratulations on the anniversary, says Mirka Mozer, Secretary General of the Danish People's Aid.

Since 1944, Danish People's Aid has, for example, given families the opportunity to spend their holidays somewhere in the Danish summer country. In 2025, 64 holiday stays were held at 19 resorts with almost 4,000 participating children and adults. Each stay should be a respite for the families filled with sand between their toes, sun on their noses and friendships across borders. And when the holiday is over, families can maintain the new relationships – or create new ones – in one of Danish People's Aid's local FamilieNet. Here, children and adults can participate in safe, voluntary and free communities in their local communities.
