Tilværelsen for børnefamilier på offentlig forsørgelse er kendetegnet ved markante økonomiske begrænsninger, og mange er psykisk påvirkede af deres økonomiske situation. Mange befinder sig i en situation, hvor økonomien ikke rummer plads til uforudsete udgifter, og hvor selv basale behov må prioriteres skarpt.
